Join Our Energy Department in Bielsko-Biała/ Kraków/ Wrocław/ Warszawa/ Gdańsk


COWI Renewable Energy, of which we are a part, has offices in Scandinavia, UK and Germany and in Poland in Bielsko-Biała, Kraków, Wrocław, Warszawa, and Gdańsk. We provide consultancy services to our customers on the planning, designing, and optimization of energy systems worldwide.


 


As Power System Engineer, you will join our global team of experts and work on challenging international projects. Your finest task in our team will be power system modeling, study analysis and assessing energy impact on the grid.


 


On a day-to-day basis, you will:



  • model a steady-state analysis, such as a load flow and a short circuit,

  • model dynamic time domain simulations (RMS) involving both generic type models as well as manufacturer-specific models,

  • prepare transient time domain simulations (EMT) concerning, e.g., energization, switching and faults, control stability and general insulation coordination,

  • perform reactive power capability analysis, including strategy and controllers for regulation of voltage and reactive power,

  • be responsible for power quality and harmonic analysis,

  • deal with a Grid Code compliance assessment, including ION and FON,



  • be involved in developing dynamic controller models in PowerFactory,

  • prepare and review technical reports related to the needed area of expertise,

  • be involved in inter-department coordination and communication with colleagues in Europe.

Furthermore, you should:



  • Master's degree in Electrical or Power System Engineering.

  • 2–8 years of experience in power system analysis across generation, transmission, and distribution.

  • Strong hands-on experience with DIgSILENT PowerFactory (preferred) or PSS®E; PSCAD experience is an advantage.

  • Solid understanding of power systems, renewable energy integration, transmission/distribution networks, and European Grid Codes (NC RfG, NC DC).

  • Ability to develop technical documentation, diagrams, and analytical reports.

  • Working knowledge of Python is desirable.

  • A collaborative professional with high ethical standards and a strong commitment to quality.
