SEO Delivery Lead

We're growing our SEO team and looking for an SEO Delivery Lead to join us as the key link between our SEO specialists and the clients they serve — taking ownership of delivery quality and the relationships behind our most important accounts.

The role

As our specialists have grown into deeper technical and strategic work, client communication and account ownership have become a bottleneck. You'll close that gap: owning the relationship with our key clients end-to-end, stepping in when things get difficult, and giving the team a clear first point of contact for anything client-related — so the Digital Marketing Manager is only pulled in for genuinely strategic or business-critical calls, not day-to-day fires.

What you'll own

• Key client management — you run our most strategic and demanding accounts independently: building real partnerships, leading difficult conversations and negotiations, de-escalating conflict, managing expectations, and keeping communication sharp and on time.
  
• Escalations and critical situations — you take ownership of anything that needs a fast, decisive response: diagnosing the problem, proposing solutions, deciding within your remit, and coordinating whoever needs to be involved to fix it.
  
• SEO delivery quality — you keep an eye on the quality bar across the team, support specialists through the harder cases, weigh in on strategy for demanding clients, and flag project risks before they become problems.
  
• Team support — you're the first point of contact for specialists on anything client-related, help unblock project issues, support prep for tougher meetings and presentations, and mentor on client communication.
  
• Process improvement — you spot where the team's ways of working need tightening, design and roll out better processes, and standardise how client and internal communication runs.
  
• Partnership with the Digital Marketing Manager — you report on the risks that matter, come with recommendations rather than open problems, and take on a growing share of operational ownership.
  

This role does not include

• People management (1:1s, performance reviews, development plans, HR matters)
  
• Personnel decisions (hiring, compensation, promotions)
  
• Department strategy, budget, or headcount planning
  
• Sales targets or drafting commercial offers (beyond subject-matter input when asked)
  

Requirements

What we're looking for

• SEO expertise — strong, hands-on SEO knowledge and a track record of running client projects.
  
• Client ownership — proven ability to independently manage demanding clients.
  
• Project management — experience juggling and prioritising multiple parallel workstreams.
  
• Judgment under pressure — you can assess risk, make the call, and act on it.
  
• Communication — confident, assertive, comfortable leading hard conversations with clients, the team, and other departments.
  
• Influence without authority — you move things forward without needing a formal reporting line.
  
• Ownership mindset — proactive, self-directed, and focused on solving problems rather than escalating them.
  

What success looks like

• The Digital Marketing Manager is pulled into strategic and business decisions only — not operational firefighting.
  
• Specialists know exactly who to go to and get real decisions, not more questions.
  
• Key clients are run independently, with high satisfaction.
  
• Escalations get resolved fast and well.
  
• The team's ways of working keep getting more structured — and you're the one driving that.
