Job Description - Senior Java Developer

We are looking for Senior Java Developers to join a long-term payments technology programme focused on terminal management systems supporting more than 300,000 payment terminals across multiple hardware vendors. The role combines backend development, integrations, and system modernisation within a complex enterprise payments environment.

This is a hands-on Java role working across both legacy and modern architectures, including migration from WildFly-based systems to Spring Boot microservices, with strong focus on integrations, distributed systems, and payment infrastructure reliability.

Responsibilities

â¢ Design and implement IT solutions based on analytical and technical documentation

â¢ Review analytical documentation and translate it into technical implementation

â¢ Create and maintain technical documentation

â¢ Support technical upgrade and modernisation of the existing system

â¢ Work with legacy code and contribute to gradual system migration

â¢ Conduct regular application scans and remove vulnerabilities

â¢ Build and maintain integrations with internal and external systems

â¢ Work with distributed transactions, queues, caching, and database integrations

Requirements

â¢ Very good knowledge of Java 8+ and object oriented programming

â¢ Practical experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and JEE

â¢ Experience designing, implementing, documenting, and testing application components independently

â¢ Practical knowledge of RabbitMQ or other message queue systems

â¢ Good knowledge of Maven, Git, GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Nexus, Jira

â¢ Knowledge of relational databases, especially Oracle

â¢ Practical experience with REST API design

â¢ Experience with system integrations and distributed systems

â¢ Experience with application servers such as JBoss / WildFly

â¢ Knowledge of scanning tools such as Fortify or Sonatype

â¢ English B2

â¢ Full availability in the Polish time zone

â¢ Ability to work 4 days per week from the Warsaw office

Nice to have

â¢ Experience in payments, acquiring, terminal management, or financial services

â¢ Experience with SOAP, RMI, database links, or direct database integrations

â¢ Experience with Hazelcast or distributed caching

â¢ Experience with distributed transaction patterns such as two phase commit or Saga

â¢ Experience working with legacy systems and migration programmes

â¢ Experience with GWT / GWTExt
