As an Senior or Principal Rock Mechanics Engineer, you will be responsible for providing expertise and technical support in the field of rock mechanics, rock tunnelling, geotechnical engineering, and slope stability analysis. You will be joining our global team of experts and work on challenging projects for the Scandinavian, North American and UK market. Also, you will be collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers to optimize designs, ensure the safe and efficient design and construction of underground and infrastructure projects.


 


Furthermore, on a day-to-day basis, you will :



  • Oversee technical leadership of a team of rock engineers

  • Analyse stability of underground and surface excavations, including caverns, tunnels, and slopes, using appropriate software and analytical tools.

  • Assess and provide recommendations for ground support systems, rock bolting, shotcrete, and other reinforcement measures.

  • Develop geotechnical design criteria, drawings, specifications, and guidelines for project implementation.

  • Conduct stability analysis for pit walls, waste dumps, and tailings dams.

  • Support project teams in the identification and management of geotechnical risks.

  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, including geotechnical data analysis and findings.

  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in rock mechanics, geotechnical engineering, and mining technology through continuous professional development.

On top of that, you have:



  • Master's degree/PhD in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related field with 10+ years' experience in rock mechanics and geotechnical engineering

  • Proficiency in geotechnical software for stability analysis such as Rocscience suite and GeoStudio.

  • Knowledge of software such as Roscience (RS2, RS3), Itasca (FLAC, UDEC), Plaxis 2D & 3D, mining and tunnelling methods.

  • Field experience in geotechnical and engineering geological site investigations.

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.



  • Enhanced written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively present technical information.
