Our client is a leading global banking and financial services organisation operating across an extensive international network. Their Krakow office hosts a specialist Product Control team supporting Global Markets Business operations. The team ensures financial instruments are appropriately valued and controlled, playing a vital role in maintaining regulatory compliance and financial integrity. They are currently seeking an experienced Senior Valuation Controller to join their Product Control team in Krakow. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex valuation methodologies and regulatory frameworks whilst collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.

Position Overview

As a Senior Valuation Controller, you will play a critical role in overseeing valuation processes and controls for financial instruments across the Global Markets Business. You will lead the preparation of Independent Price Verification, Fair Value Adjustments, Prudent Valuation and Fair Value Levelling whilst implementing improved controls and methodologies. This position requires close collaboration with key stakeholders including Quantitative Analytics, Front Office, Market Risk Management and Operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance. Your work will directly contribute to delivering a unified view of P&L and Balance Sheet across the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation of IPV, FVA, PVA and FVL processes


• Implement and improve valuation methodologies and control frameworks


• Analyse valuation model restrictions and provide recommendations


• Coordinate preparation of Management Information for various committees


• Deliver integrated P&L and Balance Sheet reporting through cross-functional collaboration


• Build relationships with Product Control functions, Quantitative Analytics and Front Office


• Collaborate with Market Risk Management, IT and Operations teams


• Reengineer processes to achieve operational efficiency and improved service quality

Requirements

• University degree in finance, economics, mathematics, physics, engineering or related field


• Strong understanding of financial instruments and valuation techniques


• Knowledge of market risk factors


• Advanced Excel skills (VBA knowledge preferred)


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work independently with ambition and enthusiasm


• Working experience with Fair Value Framework (advantageous)


• Access and SQL knowledge (advantageous)


• CFA or FRM qualification, or in progress (advantageous)
