Technical Business Analyst

YOUR ROLE

We are looking for a Business Analyst who combines deep technical understanding with strong business insight to help shape and deliver impactful solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business needs and technical implementation, ensuring that requirements are not only well-defined and testable but also aligned with strategic goals.

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in gathering and analyzing business and functional requirements, validating data flows, and supporting application testing. You will work closely with stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to ensure that solutions are clearly communicated, technically sound, and meet business expectations. A solid grasp of APIs, data transformation, and SQL is essential, as you’ll be expected to validate backend logic, interpret structured data formats, and contribute to integration efforts. While SQL proficiency is a strong asset, familiarity with tools like Postman and SoapUI for API testing will be highly beneficial in day-to-day tasks. In addition to technical skills, the role demands excellent communication and collaboration abilities. You’ll be expected to facilitate discussions across cross-functional teams, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and support defect reporting and resolution during testing phases. Experience with Agile methodologies is crucial, as you’ll be involved in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user story refinement. Familiarity with platforms such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps will be considered a plus, as these tools are integral to our workflow and documentation processes.

YOUR TASKS

• Requirements Gathering & Documentation
  Ability to elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements clearly and concisely.


• API Testing & Validation (Postman)
  Experience using Postman to test RESTful APIs, validate responses, and understand API frameworks and authentication flows.


• SQL & Data Analysis
  Proficient in writing basic SQL queries to validate backend data, perform joins, filters, and aggregations to support business logic.


• Data Mapping & Transformation Logic
  Capable of analyzing source and target data structures, defining transformation rules, and documenting logic for ETL or integration processes.


• Application Testing & Defect Reporting
  Hands-on experience in functional testing, identifying bugs, and communicating findings to developers and stakeholders.


• Technical Communication
  Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and explain system functionality to developers using appropriate terminology.


• Stakeholder Engagement
  Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with business users, developers, and QA teams, ensuring alignment and clarity.

YOUR PROFILE

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry (P&C, life, health, or reinsurance).


• Strong knowledge of insurance products, policy management, claims, and underwriting processes.


• Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe).


• Experience with JIRA and Confluence for backlog management and documentation.


• Ability to read and understand API documentation (Postman) and work with developers on integrations.


• Excellent communication skills in English (German or French is a plus).


• Strong analytical mindset and experience working in global, cross-functional teams.
