Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 3 Orthotist to join the Orthotics team on a part time (30.4 hours per fortnight) fixed term until May 2027


 


Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.


 


Services are provided through our six main campuses:


Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.


 


About the Role:


This role requires an experienced Grade 3 Orthotist to lead and grow our NDIS Orthotics service. 


 


This role is responsible for:



  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based orthotic care across outpatient and community settings 

  • Develop a sustainable NDIS orthotics service 

  • Work with complex caseloads including neuromuscular conditions and high-risk foot management 

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes 

  • Contribute to service innovation, quality improvement, and research initiatives 

  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and support to staff and students 


 


To be successful in this role you will have:



  • Degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics 

  • Membership with AOPA 

  • Minimum 7+ years’ clinical experience 

  • Strong expertise in NDIS processes and reporting 

  • Experience in neuromuscular, diabetes, wound, or fracture management 

  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and mentoring skills 

  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams 

  • Current driver’s licence, Police Check, and Working With Children Check
