Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and eligible candidates for the Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program


 


Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.


 


Services are provided through our six main campuses:


 


Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.


 


About the Role:


 


The Northern Health Graduate Enrolled Nurse Program offers range unique opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career across the continuum of care.  We recognise that support is the key to success as a Graduate Enrolled Nurse and we are committed to providing you with all the tools necessary to succeed.


 


This role is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care and outcomes in a manner consistent with the professional code of conduct, legal requirements and organisational policies and procedures, within a framework of continuous quality improvement and economic resource utilisation.  The Graduate Enrolled Nurse will work within scope of practice guidelines.


 


What the program offers:


 



  • 0.8 EFT

  • Two six-month rotations in a range of clinical areas.

  • Increased confidence and competence with career pathway and provision of quality patient care.

  • Comprehensive orientation program.

  • Paid study days.

  • Extensive support offered through Preceptors, Clinical Support Nurses, Clinical Nurse Educators and Northern Health Nursing Workforce.

  • Commencement in May 2026.


 


To be successful in this role you will have:



  • Recent completion of an NMBA approved Diploma of Nursing

  • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check

  • Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.

  • Ability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
