Designation: Assistant General Manager – Business Development
Reporting To: General Manager
Role Positioning:
This role is positioned as second in line of command within the Business Development function and
will act as the primary growth driver for PSU, EPC, and large infrastructure projects across India. The
incumbent will be expected to operate with near -GM autonomy, represent the organization at senior
client and government levels, and step in for the GM when required for commercial and strategic
engagements.

The Assistant General Manager – Business Development will lead national -level business development
initiatives focused on Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), EPC contractors, and large private
infrastructure developers. The role requires deep expertise in government tendering, high -value
project bidding, and long -cycle sales closures related to steel fabrication and hot -dip galvanizing
services.
The position demands strategic ownership of the sales pipeline, direct accountability for revenue
growth, and close coordination with factory operations to ensure execution feasibility and margin
protection
Requirements
15–20 years of progressive experience in Business Development / Sales / Marketing
Mandatory exposure to:
o PSU projects (Central & State Government)
o EPC / infrastructure / transmission / railways / oil & gas / renewable / highways sectors
• Demonstrated leadership in:
o High -value tendering and bidding (INR multi -crore projects)
o Negotiation and closure of long -gestation government contracts
• Experience representing the organization in:
o Pre -bid meetings
o Technical & commercial negotiations
o Client audits and compliance reviews
Language & Stakeholder Interface (Reinforced)
• English – Primary language for tenders, contracts, and national clients
• Hindi – Essential for PSU, EPC, and government stakeholder interactions across North and
Central India
• Tamil – Mandatory for factory coordination, local authorities, and regional clients
