Electrical Technician

About the job

In this role, you will be working in our General Services Department, supporting Al‑Awalia’s facilities by ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems across various company locations.

Some of the responsibilities include:

• Adherence to quality, health & safety, information security, and business continuity policies.


• Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.


• Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical circuits, panels, wiring, and equipment to identify faults and ensure safe operation.


• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities in line with approved schedules.


• Ensure all electrical works comply with applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.


• Respond promptly to electrical faults, breakdowns, and emergency situations to minimize downtime.


• Coordinate daily maintenance tasks and priorities with the supervisor.


• Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and maintenance activities.


• Report recurring issues, technical faults, and maintenance needs with recommendations for improvements.


• Monitor and control electrical spare parts, tools, and consumables, supporting procurement where required.


• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly condition.


• Support team members through cooperation, knowledge sharing, and adherence to safe working practices.


• Contribute to continuous improvement and development of technical practices within the team.


• Perform any other ad-hoc duties relevant to the role as assigned by the line manager.

About you

For you to be successful in this role, you will need to have the following:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field (preferred).


• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical installation and maintenance within facilities or general services environments.


• Basic knowledge of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.


• Basic command of the English language (spoken and written).


• Ability to read and interpret basic electrical drawings and specifications.


• Good understanding of electrical safety principles and maintenance practices.


• Awareness of applicable electrical codes and regulations in Qatar and the GCC region.


• Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision.


• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and improve technical skills.


• Strong teamwork, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.


• Professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safety and ethical standards.


• Customer-focused mindset with a strong service orientation.
