Job Description - Email Security Administrator

We are seeking two dedicated Email Security Administrators to manage and support the organization’s on -premises email security infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring secure, reliable, and uninterrupted email communication across the enterprise by managing spam, phishing, malware protection, and secure mail flow integration with Microsoft 365 and related systems.

1. Platform Administration & Monitoring

  • Perform daily administration and health monitoring of the email security gateway
  • Ensure system availability, performance, and stability
  • Monitor dashboards, alerts, and security events in real time

2. Policy Management & Optimization

  • Configure, maintain, and tune email security policies
  • Manage anti -spam, anti -phishing, malware filtering, and spoofing protection rules
  • Continuously improve filtering accuracy and reduce false positives/negatives

3. Quarantine & Mail Handling

  • Review quarantined emails and support safe release workflows
  • Validate false positives and ensure secure message delivery
  • Handle user requests related to blocked/quarantined emails

4. Mail Flow & Integration Support

  • Troubleshoot end -to -end mail flow issues across on -premises gateway and Microsoft 365
  • Manage SMTP routing, mail connectors, and relay configurations
  • Ensure seamless integration between security gateway, DNS, and email systems

5. Threat Investigation & Response

  • Investigate spam, phishing, malware, spoofing, and impersonation attempts
  • Perform log analysis and correlate security events
  • Support incident response in coordination with SOC teams

6. Security Protocol & Email Authentication

  • Manage and validate SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and TLS configurations
  • Ensure email authentication standards are correctly implemented and enforced

7. Collaboration & Escalation Management

  • Coordinate with infrastructure, network, SOC, and messaging teams
  • Work with vendors for issue escalation, RCA tracking, and resolution follow -up

8. Reporting & Audit Support

  • Generate operational and security reports (threat trends, blocked mail, system health)
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Maintain documentation for configurations, incidents, and changes

9. Change & Maintenance Support

  • Support system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities
  • Execute change requests following approval processes
  • Ensure minimal disruption during updates and migrations


Requirements

  • Proven experience in email security gateway administration (on -prem or hybrid environments)
  • Strong hands -on knowledge of mail flow architecture and SMTP routing
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 mail systems
  • Deep understanding of:
    • SMTP, MX records, DNS
    • SPF, DKIM, DMARC authentication
    • TLS encryption for email transport
  • Experience in phishing, spam, malware analysis, and incident handling
  • Familiarity with SOC environments and security escalation workflows
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for mail flow and connectivity issues
