Job Objectives

To be responsible for performance of Fume Treatment plants within Reduction area and of the three different material distribution systems for distribution of alumina oxide, alumina fluoride and anode covering material to both the Potlines in an efficient, cost effective, safe and environmental manner during a 24/7 shift roster.

Key Accountabilities - 1

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

Follow of all relevant operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Departmental Reports

Generate or assist in generation of any departmental reports are prepared as per management request, in a timely and accurate manner to meet company and department requirements governing reporting.

Health, Safety and Environment

Comply with all agreed occupational health, safety and environmental regulations in order to protect personnel and physical assets. Ensure that the work areas are kept in a clean and tidy state in order that work can be carried out safely and effectively.

Continuous Improvement

Provide input and recommend the continuous improvement of the company practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, changes in international standards and changes in the business environment which demand proactive action plans.

Qatarization

Support the development and training of National employees. 

Key Accountabilities - 2

Department Activities

• Coordinate with fellow team members to do all the work within FTP&MDS as required.


• Communicate with various interface departments within Qatalum when required (BCP’s, Port & Utilities, Potlines, FTC, Reduction Maintenance, Lab etc.). 


• Monitor SCADA trends/APICS etc. and do field inspections as required. 


• Highlight deviations and improvement potentials. 


• Issuance of Work Permits 


• Ensure production requirements are meet by adhering to departmental PI and KPIs.

Minimum Qualifications Required

Trade Certificate in relevant field

Minimum Experience Required

3-5 y experience in Fume Treatment Plant and/or Material Distribution Systems at an Aluminum Smelter, or other relevant work experience

Job Specific Skills

• Good interpersonal and communication skills; - ability to move and perform in a multicultural environment


• Being able to do monitor and look for possible upcoming deviations, do field investigations and data-analysing by computer programmes or SCADA-systems etc. and then ensure actions are set to address and resolve any issue


• Proactive, - look beyond boundaries / interfaces and propose improvements


• Computer literacy in SAP PM, APICS and MS Office Applications, + knowledge of PLC’s, servers and SCADA-systems


• Fluency in English is a must; knowledge of Arabic is a bonus.
