Lifting/Rigging Engineer

Job Description

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Lifting/Rigging Engineer in Qatar. Our client, Danem Engineering Works W.L.L, is seeking skilled and experienced professionals capable of planning and supervising safe lifting and rigging activities. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed lifting and rigging plans for heavy and critical lifting operations.
  
• Perform load calculations and assess crane capacity, lifting radius, rigging configuration, and equipment suitability.
  
• Select appropriate cranes, slings, shackles, spreader beams, lifting beams, and other rigging accessories.
  
• Review lifting drawings, method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation before operations begin.
  
• Supervise lifting and rigging activities to ensure compliance with approved lift plans and applicable safety requirements.
  
• Inspect lifting equipment and accessories and verify valid certification before use.
  
• Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, supervisors, safety personnel, and site engineering teams during lifting activities.
  
• Identify lifting hazards and implement appropriate engineering and operational control measures.
  

Required Skills

1. Lifting & Rigging Engineering — Strong technical knowledge of lifting principles and rigging configurations.
   
2. Lift Planning — Ability to prepare and review lifting plans and method statements.
   
3. Load Calculations — Ability to calculate loads, sling forces, lifting radius, and equipment requirements.
   
4. Crane Operations — Strong understanding of crane capacity, load charts, operating radius, and lifting limitations.
   
5. Rigging Safety — Knowledge of safe rigging practices, equipment inspection, and lifting risk controls.
   

Preferred Skills

• Critical/heavy lift planning experience.
  
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment certification and inspection requirements.
  
• Experience coordinating complex lifting operations on industrial or construction sites.
  

Work Experience Requirements

Candidates must have 8–10 years of experience relevant to lifting and rigging engineering. Experience should include lift planning, load calculations, equipment selection, technical review, and supervision of lifting activities in engineering, industrial, or construction environments.

Education

• Minimum: Engineering Degree
  
• Preferred: Relevant lifting/rigging professional certifications
  
• Additional: Lifting/Rigging certifications as applicable to the role
