Job Description - Machinist

Job Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and maintain machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) specifications.

Select appropriate cutting tools, materials, and machine settings (speeds and feeds) for each job.

Measure and mark raw materials for machining.

Machine parts to precise dimensions, ensuring they meet all specified tolerances and surface finish requirements.

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) to inspect finished parts.

Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adjust settings as necessary.

Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they remain in good working order.

Adhere to all safety procedures when operating machinery and handling materials.

Document production data and report any deviations from specifications.
