Offshore pedestal crane operator

• Operate pedestal cranes to load/unload materials, equipment, and supplies on offshore platforms and vessels.
  

• Follow offshore lifting procedures, conduct pre‑operation checks, and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
  

• Perform routine inspections, report defects, and assist in preventive maintenance of crane systems.
  

• Secure loads properly, calculate weight limits, and ensure balanced lifting operations.
  

• Work closely with riggers, signalers, and deck supervisors to execute lifting operations safely.
  

• Act promptly in case of mechanical issues or unsafe conditions.
  

• Maintain crane operation logs, inspection records, and lifting permits.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (mandatory).
  

• Technical training in crane operation or mechanical systems (preferred).
  

• Valid offshore crane operator license/certification (as per OPITO/IMCA or local authority).
  

• Minimum 5–7 years’ offshore crane operation experience.
  

Certifications (Preferred)

• OPITO Offshore Crane Operator certification.
  

• HSE training (Work at Height, Rigging & Slinging, Fire Safety).
  

• Offshore survival training (BOSIET / HUET).
