Painting Inspector Offshore

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation Inspection: Verify blasting, cleaning, and preparation of substrates in line with project specifications and NACE standards.
  

• Coating Application Monitoring: Inspect application of primers, intermediate, and finish coats to ensure compliance with manufacturer’s data sheets and project requirements.
  

• Environmental Condition Checks: Monitor temperature, humidity, dew point, and surface conditions before and during coating application.
  

• Quality Assurance: Ensure coating thickness, adhesion, and curing meet specified standards.
  

• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain inspection records, daily reports, and coating logs for QA/QC compliance.
  

• Non‑Conformance Management: Identify coating defects (holidays, pinholes, blistering), issue NCRs, and verify corrective actions.
  

• Safety Compliance: Ensure safe handling of paints, solvents, and blasting equipment in line with HSE protocols.
  

• Coordination: Liaise with contractors, supervisors, and QA/QC managers to resolve coating issues and ensure timely completion.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline.
  

• Mandatory Certification: NACE Level II Coating Inspector.
  

• Minimum 5–7 years of coating inspection experience, with offshore oil & gas exposure preferred.
  

• Strong knowledge of SSPC, ISO, ASTM, and project coating specifications.
  

Certifications & Training

• NACE Level II Coating Inspector (mandatory).
  

• ISO 9001 Quality Management awareness.
  

• Offshore survival training (BOSIET/HUET).
  

• HSE training for hazardous materials handling.
