The Piping Foreman leads
offshore piping crews during shutdowns, ensuring safe and efficient execution
of fabrication, installation, repairs, and hydrotesting of pipelines, valves,
and supports.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shutdown Execution:
o Supervise pipe fitters, welders, and riggers in
tasks like:
§ Replacement of corroded pipelines, valves, and
flanges.
§ Installation of new spools/modifications per
P&IDs/isometrics.
§ Hydrotesting and leak checks.
o Ensure work complies with shutdown schedules
(critical path).
2. HSE & Compliance:
o Enforce PTW (Permit to Work),
isolation (LOTO), and confined space procedures.
o Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety audits
(QatarEnergy/Shell standards).
3. Quality Control:
o Verify alignment, welding (WPS/PQR), and
gasket installation per ASME B31.3/API 570.
o Oversee NDT (RT/UT) and punch -list closure.
4. Coordination:
o Liaise with shutdown managers, engineers, and
other trades (scaffolding, insulation).
o Report progress/roadblocks using SAP or
client -specific systems.
5. Materials & Tools:
· Experience:
o 8+ years in oil/gas piping, with 3+
years offshore shutdowns.
o Familiarity with Aramco, QP, or Shell
shutdown procedures is a plus.
· Technical
Skills:
o Reading isometrics/P&IDs, rigging plans,
and stress analysis reports.
o Proficiency in flange management and
bolt -torquing procedures.
