Job Description - Production Planning Engineer 1


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for the preparation, validation,  issuance, and getting approval as may be applicable for Business plan figures (one year), Plan (including QP import and mixed LPG) by daily, weekly or monthly bases or for Long term plan (5 years) or Long term plan (10 years).

  • Coordinates between Operations and Sales & Marketing teams to prepare and revise the monthly and long term rolling production plans and the lifting program in line with gas market demands and sales commitments. 

  • Implements development and management of the information system, production database, reporting processes and procedures for Dolphin Energy’s production planning.

  • Responsible for ensuring effective data collection, information management and reporting of all onshore, offshore and other operations related activities to support decision making within the Operations and Sales and Marketing.

  • Reviews the production reports in order to monitor production and identify areas for concern. 

  • Coordinates with Production, Marketing, Projects, and Maintenance to discuss the production plans, corrective actions, and reschedule maintenance activities to reduce downtime.

  • Monitors and determines the surplus export gas availability and includes in the Production Plan.

  • Liaises with common facilities operator (RLTO) to schedule LPG/condensate/sulphur shipments as required, in order to maintain gas nomination levels without interruptions, and responsible to ensure production is in line with plans.

  • Coordinates with Operations and Marketing the corrective actions required after identifying potential delays in production and export. 

  • Reviews and agree with Reservoir department to coordinate and schedule logging activities in order to minimize impact on production.

  • Review, analyse and agree with Operations and Finance on Production accounting, official production figures and reconciliations.

  • Responsible for the preparation, review and issuance of the short term and long term Asset Integrated Plan.

  • Identify and flag requirements for maximizing or minimizing the production of derivate of gas in order to satisfy gas demand.

  • Receive information from maintenance teams about major maintenance works, planned shutdowns and other activities, which might impact production and export capacity of the plant in order to highlight potential issues.

  • Liaise closely with Marketing during the interim operations phase, in order to keep the system informed about the start-up and production profiles and to identify the variances with the gas nomination profile.

  • Review and recommend approval of Production Performance reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, from inception) as needed.

  • Determines and recommends optimum mode of operations based on economic evaluation as may be necessary.

  • Analyse production data to ensure productions are optimized in terms of quality and quantity as may be needed.

  • Spearheads in resolving product metering issues, mismeasurement, allocation and reconciliation concerns as may be needed.

  • Acts as a focal person for RLTO business scheduling operations, allocation, product sales and administration.

  • Provides insights, recommend corrective actions to Operations and Marketing teams to finalize adjustments to plan in order to meet company objectives.

  • Proposes amendments to protocols/procedures. Reviews proposed commercial agreements/procedures related to shared facilities and relevant technical sections of proposed gas agreements as may be needed.

  • Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned by Manager Production Planning.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


Bachelors degree in Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent


6 years’ relevant experience in Production Planning in the Oil & Gas industry including atleast 3 years in  positions of progressively increasing responsibilities.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Planning and organizing skills.
    Good knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage
