Job Description:

Senior BIM / CAD Technician

Qatar

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior BIM / CAD Technician to join our team! In this role, you will support multidisciplinary design and coordination activities across Civil, Architectural, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities disciplines, using BIM and CAD tools to develop, manage, and coordinate design and as-built information for large-scale infrastructure projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Using AutoCAD, Revit Architecture, and Navisworks to develop and manage BIM models and CAD drawings.
• Preparing concept designs and layouts for Civil, Architectural, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities disciplines.
• Managing BIM models, documents, and data submittals, and extracting CAD drawings and required information (e.g., spreadsheets with quantities of design and as-built elements).
• Supporting the preparation of conceptual designs using 3D and CAD drafting tools, including gathering and integrating all relevant utilities data.
• Preparing clash detection reports and reviewing coordination and interfaces between Civil, Architectural, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities disciplines.
• Supporting site teams to validate or collect information needed to update as-builts, CAD drawings, and BIM models as required.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

• Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in CAD drafting for Architectural, Civil, MEP, Roads & Highways, and Utilities, including handling BIM models (using Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD (2019 or later), Revit Architecture, and Navisworks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prepare coordinated layouts for utilities in accordance with relevant authority standards and utility provider requirements.
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection processes.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow established CAD/BIM standards and procedures.

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

• Experience with Doha Metro CAD/BIM, or other large-scale infrastructure projects such as railway transportation systems/metro.
• Knowledge of document management applications such as Aconex or similar platforms.
• Experience working within a structured BIM environment, including model federation and coordination workflows.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large volumes of drawings, models, and related data.
