Job Description - Strategic Affairs & Governance (General Counsel)

Purpose of Role

To support the CEO in the execution of the
family office strategy by providing oversight of governance activities,
coordinating professional advisers and supporting strategic initiatives,
investments and key stakeholder relationships.

Key
Responsibilities

Strategic
Support

  • Support the CEO in the delivery of strategic priorities and
    initiatives.

  • Coordinate key projects across the family office and portfolio
    interests.

  • Prepare strategic briefings, presentations and
    recommendations.

  • Monitor the execution of key actions and objectives.

Governance
& Risk

  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks.
  • Coordinate board, shareholder and governance activities.
  • Support risk management and decision -making processes.
  • Ensure actions and approvals are appropriately documented and
    tracked.

Adviser &
Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with external legal, tax and professional
    advisers.

  • Coordinate adviser activities across multiple projects and
    transactions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Investment
& Commercial Support

  • Support investment evaluations and strategic projects.
  • Coordinate due diligence activities and adviser inputs.
  • Assist with transaction execution and portfolio oversight
    where required.

Candidate
Profile

  • Highly organised and commercially astute.
  •  Trusted adviser capable of operating at executive level.
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management capability.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and confidential
    matters.

  • Ambitious and on an upward career trajectory.

Essential
Experience & Qualifications

  • Existing Qatar experience.
  • Established professional network within Qatar.
  • 10 -17 years' experience.
  • Strong commercial and strategic acumen.
  • Experience supporting senior executives, boards or
    shareholders.

  • Experience managing professional advisers and external
    stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading complex projects and initiatives.

Desirable
Experience & Qualifications

  • Family office experience.
  • Corporate development or M&A experience.
  • Governance or board -level exposure.
  • Investment or portfolio management exposure.
  • Experience within a holding company, investment group or
    diversified business.

  • Real estate investment exposure.
