We are currently looking for a HSE advisor at the European level who will subordinate the responsibles in the factories and will be directly subordinated to the HR Regional Manager, a highly professional candidate with a proven track record of successfully implementing best practices at the operational and procedural level. Job content
⢠Key responsibilities in safety are: o Supporting the development of EHS policies and programs o Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery LOTO, etc.) o Developing and conducting risk assessment and enforce preventative measures o Reviewing existing policies and measures and update according to legislation o Initiating and organizing OHS training of employees and executives o Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment) o Overseeing installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc. o Stopping any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy o Recording and investigating incidents to determine causes (and handle workerâs compensation claims) o Preparing reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management ⢠Key responsibilities in waste management are: o Establishing the waste management governance system o Developing and implementing procedures and flows for disposing of (non) hazardous materials o Overseeing design and implementation of waste disposal systems o Collating statistics and compile reports o Evaluating waste management options and applying a waste hierarchy model in order to reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, and dispose of waste material. o Conducting research and analytical studies on a variety of waste management programs and issues. o Aiming to meet waste reduction and recycling targets o Initiating and organizing waste management trainings o Developing and updating waste management policies and procedures o Developing projects and contributing the activities of global groups concerned with waste disposal o Participating in auditing processes, including approvals, water monitoring reports, engineering designs, and contingency planning. o Staying informed with respect to waste management regulations and ensure regulations are being adhered to. ⢠Reporting line - to the HR manager |
⢠Masters degree in Environmental Science, Bio/Chemical Science, Safety Management, Engineering or relevant field
⢠Experience in waste management and safety is a plus
⢠Knowledgeable about and are interested in environmental issues
⢠Keen with statistics and are eager to understand dynamics and complex legislation
⢠Knowledgeable about legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA),procedures & potentially hazardous materials or practices
⢠Proficient in MS Office (e.g. SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, â¦)
⢠Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus
⢠Diligent with great attention to detail
⢠Certificate in occupational health and safety
⢠Effective communication & organization skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
⢠Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
⢠Fluent in English. Other languages are a plus
⢠Able to go on business trips (9 factories in Europe) â approximately every 4-6 weeks, in the beginning maybe more frequently
