Responsibilities






The Tech & Operations Lead will build, scale, and lead Client's technology and operations capabilities within the Romania Global Capability Center (GCC). Reporting to the Head of GCC Romania and partnering with the Group CTO and global technology leadership, the role will establish new teams, strengthen end-to-end delivery, and ensure alignment with global architecture, platforms, operational standards, and transformation priorities in a regulated, high-availability payments environment.

 

  • Technology & Operations Strategy: Define the Romania GCC technology and operations roadmap in line with global strategy, building capabilities across engineering, data, platforms, infrastructure, payments operations, and service management.
  • Capability Build & Scale: Lead the setup and scale-up of technology and operations teams, including organization design, role definition, talent ramp-up, and delivery models for global products and services.
  • Technical Leadership & Architecture Alignment: Provide technical leadership across payment technologies and operational systems, ensuring alignment with architecture, security, resilience, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee reliable, high-availability delivery and drive continuous improvement, automation, DevOps, SRE, ITSM, and GenAI-enabled operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key interface between the Romania GCC, Group Technology, and global business and operations stakeholders, ensuring prioritization, transparency, and integration.
  • Talent, Culture, and Leadership Development: Attract, develop, and retain technical and operational talent, building leadership capability and a culture of accountability, innovation, quality, and learning.
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance: Ensure adherence to governance, security, regulatory, audit, risk management, and operational resilience requirements relevant to a payment service provider.








Qualifications






  • Experience: 12+ years in senior technology and/or operations leadership roles, with proven experience building and scaling teams or centers from scratch within complex, global organizations.
  • Technical Background: Strong hands-on understanding of modern technology stacks, platforms, and operating models relevant to a payment service provider (e.g., payments processing, high-availability systems, cloud, DevOps, cybersecurity, data, and regulated environments).
  • Operational Leadership: Demonstrated ability to run large-scale, mission-critical technology and operations functions with a focus on reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • People Leadership: Proven track record of building high-performing teams and developing technical leaders in fast-growth environments.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate global technology strategy into executable local roadmaps and scalable delivery models.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior technology leaders, including the Group CTO, and global business stakeholders
  • Change & Transformation: Experience leading technology and operational transformation initiatives, including automation, standardization, and adoption of new technologies.
  • Results Orientation: Strong focus on delivering measurable outcomes, operational stability, and long-term value creation for the business.
