Examines
and tests condition of metal parts and components and advises on metals
processing, design, and production. Able to heat treats metal parts to specific
requirements and surface treats metals. Maintains testing, heat treating, metal
surfacing metal working machinery and equipment.

Knowledge
of concepts and application of ferrous and nonferrous metal characteristics.

Various
metal cutting machines, hand tools and precision measuring

instruments,
mechanical forces, stresses and strains as applied to tool and die design,
metal repair and fabrication processes to include forging welding, metal
testing inspection and heat treatment, electroplating processes, applied physics
and chemical metallurgy.

Requirements
