Assistant, Bar Sorter

Position Summary:
To assist Bar Sorters in sorting rebars according to size, grade, and batch to ensure accurate delivery and compliance with production schedules.
Responsibilities:
Sorting Assistance:
•    Help identify and segregate rebars as per production requirements.
•    Assist in moving sorted bars to designated stacking or storage locations.
Material Handling:
•    Support transport of rebars within the sorting and cooling bed areas.
•    Ensure safe stacking and alignment of bars.
Equipment Support:
•    Aid in the maintenance and cleaning of sorting equipment and work areas.
•    Report any equipment faults or safety concerns.
Coordination:
•    Collaborate with Bar Sorters, Cooling Bed Operators, and Forklift Operators.
•    Communicate production or quality issues to supervisors.
Safety & Housekeeping:
•    Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
•    Keep the sorting area clean and hazard-free.
•    Assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
Competencies:
•    Basic understanding of bar sorting operations
•    Physically capable of manual material handling
•    Effective communication and teamwork skills
•    Knowledge of safety procedures
