Our capabilities include pipe internal girth weld coating, advanced ultrasonic testing and inspection, and composite reinforcement and repair solutions for asset life extension. We help clients maintain safety, reliability, and asset integrity while extending the service life of critical equipment.

Role Overview

The Business Development Engineer reports directly to the Business Development Manager. The position combines technical field assessment, commercial follow-through, and hands-on execution support, linking our clients, commercial team, and operations delivery.

Kingdom-wide scope: the base location is Al Khobar, but the role requires travel to and mobilization in any city within Saudi Arabia, including at short notice for emergency and call-out work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client site visits across the Kingdom to assess scope, site conditions, access constraints, and technical requirements for coating, inspection, and composite repair work
  • Prepare site visit reports capturing scope, risks, resource needs, and cost drivers
  • Screen enquiries and tenders against company capability, capacity, and margin criteria; submit go/no-go recommendations with technical and commercial rationale
  • Prepare proposals and quotations; collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure solutions are technically sound and deliverable; support contract negotiations
  • Organize and lead formal handover meetings to Operations for every awarded contract, documenting scope boundaries, assumptions, exclusions, commercial terms, and client expectations before mobilization
  • Support the operations team during project execution and coordinate job execution directly, particularly for emergency and urgent call-out jobs requiring rapid mobilization and real-time decisions
  • Own CRM data quality: maintain accurate records for all leads, opportunities, accounts, and contacts; follow up on all open deals; log every interaction with clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Produce weekly pipeline reports and forecasts for management
  • Build relationships with client technical, integrity, maintenance, and procurement contacts; coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors for technical data, quotations, and lead times
  • Plan and organize company participation and booth setup at industry exhibitions and conferences, including collateral, logistics, staffing, and pre-event client meetings; capture and qualify all event leads into the CRM
  • Conduct ongoing market analysis covering trends, competitor activity, upcoming turnarounds and projects, and areas for service expansion


Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, Industrial, or Materials Engineering
  • 2-5 years in business development, technical sales, proposals, or field engineering within industrial services, inspection, or oil and gas
  • Proven experience conducting client site visits and producing technical scope assessments
  • Availability to travel and mobilize to any location within Saudi Arabia, including at short notice
  • Working knowledge of tendering and prequalification with Saudi operators, EPC contractors, and major service companies
  • Hands-on CRM experience with a proven record of data discipline
  • Strong written and spoken English; able to produce client-facing technical and commercial reports
  • Valid Saudi driving license; transferable iqama for non-Saudi candidates

Preferred

  • Field execution or project coordination experience on shutdown, turnaround, or emergency repair scopes
  • Familiarity with NDT methods, particularly advanced ultrasonic testing
  • Exposure to pipeline coating or composite repair systems
  • Existing relationships within Saudi Aramco, SABIC, petrochemical operators, or their contractor base
  • Experience supporting exhibition and conference participation
  • Understanding of HSE requirements, permit-to-work systems, and gate pass procedures
  • Basic estimating and cost build-up capability
  • Arabic language skills

Core Competencies

Composure under pressure in emergency call-out situations. Organization and follow-through on pipeline data. Credible communication with both client engineers and internal operations teams. Precision in documenting scope boundaries and exclusions.
