Job Summary

The Design Engineer is responsible for preparing equipment layout drawings, shop drawings, and 2D/3D models for formwork, shoring, and access systems. The role supports project delivery by producing accurate engineering documentation that enables customers to safely and efficiently erect and use the equipment in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment layouts, shop drawings, 2D drawings, 3D models, and other CAD-related engineering documentation.


• Develop accurate design solutions for formwork, shoring, and access systems based on project requirements.


• Coordinate closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure timely completion of design deliverables.


• Review and check engineering drawings for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications under the guidance of the Design Manager when required.


• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with applicable health, safety, and quality standards.


• Attend client meetings and site visits with the sales or project team to provide technical support.


• Conduct site inspections and provide engineering support during the construction phase when required.


• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design team members.


• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support project execution and organizational objectives.


• Maintain proper documentation and revision control for all engineering drawings and project records.


• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.


• Postgraduate qualification or professional certification is an advantage.

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in formwork, shoring, scaffolding, or access system design.


• Minimum of 2 years of site experience is preferred.


• Experience in civil, structural, or construction engineering projects is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D and 3D drafting.


• Good knowledge of formwork, shoring, and access systems.


• Strong understanding of engineering drawings and construction methodologies.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.


• Familiarity with engineering standards and project documentation.
