About the Position
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team at the National Guard Health Affairs in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art healthcare facility and contribute to the well-being of cancer patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
- Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments according to prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments
- Manage side effects and complications associated with cancer treatments
- Educate patients and their families about cancer, treatment options, side effects, and self-care techniques
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Assist in the development and implementation of oncology-specific policies and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in oncology nursing and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care
- Mentor and support junior nursing staff in oncology care
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards
- Assist in the coordination of patient care across different departments and specialties
- Participate in tumor board meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- 2+ years of experience in oncology nursing
- Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and managing central lines
- Strong knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and symptom management
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
- Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health record systems
