Oncology Nurse - National Guard Jeddah (KSA)

About the Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Nurse to join our team at the National Guard Health Affairs in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art healthcare facility and contribute to the well-being of cancer patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans


• Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments according to prescribed protocols and safety guidelines


• Monitor patients' conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments


• Manage side effects and complications associated with cancer treatments


• Educate patients and their families about cancer, treatment options, side effects, and self-care techniques


• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care


• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records


• Assist in the development and implementation of oncology-specific policies and procedures


• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects


• Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families


• Stay updated on the latest advancements in oncology nursing and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care


• Mentor and support junior nursing staff in oncology care


• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards


• Assist in the coordination of patient care across different departments and specialties


• Participate in tumor board meetings and contribute to treatment planning discussions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution


• 2+ years of experience in oncology nursing


• Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and managing central lines


• Strong knowledge of cancer pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and symptom management


• Excellent communication skills in English


• Ability to work in a multicultural environment


• Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health record systems
