Working closely with the Director of Event Production and the wider leadership team, this role goes beyond winning projects—it is about shaping the commercial direction of the business, strengthening BeWunder's market position, expanding strategic partnerships and building sustainable revenue streams.
The Strategic Partnerships Director provides leadership to the business development function, mentors commercial team members and works closely with Project Directors to ensure commercial opportunities are successfully translated into profitable project delivery.
The role requires close collaboration across all business units and regions to ensure alignment with the strategic objectives and long-term vision of the organisation.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the Event Production business development strategy aligned with the overall company vision.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of annual business plans and long-term growth strategies.
- Establish commercial objectives, KPIs and revenue targets.
- Drive expansion into new markets, industries and strategic client segments.
- Identify strategic partnerships, alliances and new revenue opportunities.
Business Development
- Lead the acquisition of major regional and international projects.
- Build executive-level relationships with brands, agencies, government entities and strategic partners.
- Lead negotiations for high-value commercial opportunities.
- Oversee the entire sales pipeline and ensure consistent business growth.
- Represent BeWunder during major client presentations, pitches and industry events.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor and develop the Business Development team.
- Foster a high-performance commercial culture focused on collaboration and client excellence.
- Work closely with Project Directors to align commercial commitments with operational capabilities.
- Support cross-functional collaboration between Business Development, Project Management, Creative, Technical Production and Finance.
Client & Market Leadership
- Strengthen relationships with existing key accounts while expanding new strategic partnerships.
- Represent the organisation at regional and international networking events, exhibitions and conferences.
- Maintain deep understanding of market trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies.
Commercial & Financial Oversight
- Own commercial forecasting and sales performance reporting.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth while protecting margins.
- Support commercial governance, pricing strategy and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with Finance and Project Directors to ensure commercial commitments translate into profitable project delivery.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify new business models, market opportunities and service offerings.
- Promote innovation across commercial processes and client engagement.
- Drive continuous improvement in business development methodologies, CRM utilisation and sales effectiveness.
- Share market intelligence and commercial insights with the wider leadership team.
