Collect, compile, process and analyse statistics, and share findings with the internal team.
Update and maintain the statistical database by verifying the accuracy of data received, validating source data and liaising frequently with data providers.
Analyse economic conditions and assist in preparing comprehensive draft economic reports.
Liaise with and provide statistical information to internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrate understanding and application of methodological standards to ensure adherence to international best practices.
Assist with special projects and conduct research on statistical methodologies.
Perform general administrative and ad hoc tasks as required.
To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:
an Honours degree (NQF 8) in Economics, Statistics, Finance or a related field; and
two years’ experience in the field of statistics, economic analysis and financial economics.

an aptitude for compiling data using computerised systems;
initiative, with analytical and problem-solving skills;
task-orientated, with excellent time management skills and a strong work ethic;
ability to perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment and maintain quality under pressure;
skills in managing complexity, ambiguity and high volume and unstructured data;
ability to work independently and within a team or project environment;
proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products;
good communication and interpersonal skills;
good report writing skills; and
the ability to pay attention to detail.
