Key Responsibility Areas:

•Assumes responsibility for the overall management of policy development processes. 

•Assumes responsibility for the overall management and consultation of stakeholders in policy development processes. 

•Co-ordination of policy and projects (alignment of projects to policy). 

•Formulates strategies for the effective management of policy and administration in consultation with the Director. 

•Implements the strategy, ensuring all functions in the policy and administration are appropriately grouped, allocating resources to the various divisions, defining areas of responsibility and resolving conflicts. 

•Monitors and reviews performance. 

•Assumes responsibility for the overall management of policy and administration budget. 

•Assumes responsibility for the overall management of an administrative system of the Directorate. 

•Presents progress reports to the Director.

Essential Requirements:

•Degree (NQF Level 7) in Public Administration or Public Management or Business Administration or any other related and equivalent qualification. 

•Valid motor vehicle driving license 

•6 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be at a management level. 

•Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

•Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Public Administration or Public Management or Business Administration or any other related and equivalent qualification. 

•7 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a management level.
