Operating within a hospitality management company in Bryanston, this general-level position is responsible for executing day-to-day financial, accounting, and control operations. The role focuses on processing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining petty cash controls, managing accruals and prepayments, preparing monthly journals, and performing routine float and docket reconciliations.
Working on-site in Bryanston, Monday - Friday 08.30am - 5pm, you will ensure all financial documentation, returns, and inventory control records are accurately completed and submitted timeously in accordance with prescribed company standards. The role requires immediate reporting of any financial variances or inventory irregularities to management to ensure internal control systems operate effectively within agreed parameters.
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly returns accurately and submit them timeously on prescribed formats following company standards.
Process supplier invoices, liaise with suppliers, resolve queries, and manage Accounts Payable accruals and prepayments.
Manage, reconcile, and balance cash, floats, dockets, and petty cash, ensuring alignment between daily income and expenditure while securely maintaining vouchers and documentation.
Handle debtor processing, customer reconciliations, and debt collection.
Prepare monthly general ledger journals.
Ensure all documentation for receiving and issuing commodities/inventory is completed accurately.
Immediately notify management of any shortages, surpluses, financial variances, or irregularities, ensuring queries are handled promptly.
Maintain and monitor operational control systems to ensure they function effectively within established parameters.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in a related finance/accounting role with a solid track record in the Hospitality Industry.
Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
Valid South African ID (RSA ID).
Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Proficient in Sage Pastel accounting software.
Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Microsoft Office (Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel).
Sage Pastel.
Mandatory 5% deduction towards the company provident fund included in CTC.
