Job Description - Area Coach

Red Ember Recruitment is seeking an experienced Area Coach on behalf of our client based in Plattekloof.

The Area Coach is responsible for leading multiple restaurants through coaching and developing Restaurant General Managers (RGMs) while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, sales growth and profitability. This role spends the majority of its time in stores, coaching leadership teams and ensuring consistent execution of company standards.

Leadership & People Development

  • Coach and develop Restaurant General Managers and management teams.
  • Drive succession planning and talent development.
  • Facilitate management training programmes.
  • Conduct performance reviews and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Build a high -performance culture.
  • Manage employee relations matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety standards.
  • Lead regular area management meetings.

Customer Excellence

  • Coach stores to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Conduct customer visits and operational reviews.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction scores.
  • Analyse Guest Experience Survey (GES) results.
  • Resolve escalated customer complaints.
  • Improve service speed, accuracy and cleanliness.
  • Implement continuous operational improvements.

Sales & Business Growth

  • Drive area sales performance.
  • Set ambitious sales targets.
  • Execute marketing campaigns effectively.
  • Develop local marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor competitor activity.
  • Coach teams to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Drive recognition and incentive programmes.

Financial Performance

  • Maximise profitability through labour and food cost control.
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly financial performance.
  • Analyse operational reports and KPIs.
  • Develop quarterly Area Operating Plans (AOP).
  • Prepare business reviews and Balanced Scorecard presentations.
  • Monitor P&L performance.
  • Ensure corrective actions following financial audits.


Requirements

  • BCom, Business Management qualification or related tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.
  • Proven multi -site operational leadership experience.
  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Ability to travel extensively between restaurants.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Exceptional leadership and coaching ability.
  • Customer -focused mindset.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and motivate teams.
  • Strong problem -solving capability.
  • Time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
