About the Role

An established business coaching and consulting organisation is seeking an energetic, outgoing and commercially driven Business Development Consultant to join its team in Johannesburg.

This role is ideal for a confident relationship-builder with strong networking abilities, excellent communication skills and a natural flair for sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating qualified business meetings, developing relationships with prospective clients and converting opportunities into coaching and consulting engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and generate new business opportunities through networking, prospecting and relationship building.


• Secure qualified meetings with business owners, decision-makers and prospective clients.


• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients.


• Build and nurture professional relationships to generate referrals and repeat business.


• Present business coaching and consulting solutions to prospective clients.


• Convert qualified leads into group coaching and one-on-one coaching engagements.


• Follow up consistently with prospective clients to progress opportunities through the sales pipeline.


• Leverage existing professional networks and business contacts to identify new opportunities.


• Meet agreed sales, meeting-generation and client-conversion targets.


• Maintain accurate records of leads, meetings, follow-ups and sales activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in sales, business development, client acquisition or relationship management.


• Experience in media sales, advertising sales, professional services or a similar client-facing sales environment would be advantageous.


• Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage business owners and senior decision-makers.


• Excellent verbal communication, presentation and negotiation skills.


• A proactive, energetic and outgoing personality.


• A commercially minded approach with a strong focus on results and earning potential.


• The ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.


• Existing business contacts and a professional network would be a significant advantage.

Remuneration & Incentives

The package includes a basic salary, with the opportunity to earn additional income through performance-based incentives:

• Basic salary: R10,000 – R15,000 per month, depending on experience and suitability.


• Qualified meetings: R200 per qualified meeting.


• Group coaching client conversion: R3,000 per successful conversion.


• One-on-one coaching client conversion: R7,000 per successful conversion.
