The Role: Business Development Specialist
The purpose of this role is to identify, secure, and develop new outdoor advertising sites to drive company growth. It exists to build a pipeline of potential locations, ranging from roadside and freeway to urban and retail spaces, by engaging property owners and negotiating lease agreements. The main focus is managing the full deal lifecycle from initial lead generation to the final signed agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and assess potential outdoor advertising sites including roadside, freeway, and urban locations.
Conduct preliminary feasibility assessments regarding visibility, traffic exposure, and access.
Engage property owners and stakeholders to initiate professional contact and build rapport.
Prepare and present commercial proposals including lease terms and revenue-share agreements.
Negotiate access rights and address objections to secure signed site-use agreements.
Manage the full deal lifecycle and maintain accurate records of leads and negotiations.
Liaise internally with technical, legal, and operations teams to finalize agreements.
About You
Proven track record of successfully performing a similar role.
Previous experience in business development, sales, property, advertising, or media.
Strong sales ability with a deal-closing mindset and commercial acumen.
High emotional intelligence and understanding of human psychology for negotiation.
Valid South African driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
Own reliable mobile phone and willingness to travel extensively.
Resilient, persistent, and comfortable working flexible hours as required.
Clean criminal and credit records with a clean bill of health.
Experience negotiating contracts or lease agreements is a strong advantage.
Experience in outdoor advertising or property development is beneficial but not essential.
