Clerk of Works

Key Responsibility Areas
 

• Provides quality control on site.
• Inspects contracts.
• Ensures site safety in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Assists with the compilation of payment certificates.
• Assists in resolving disputes at site meetings.
• Provides training, mentoring and transfer of practical knowledge and skills to emerging
  contractors.
• Ensures accurate records of progress on site are kept.
• Investigates and reports on construction related complaints.
• Liaises with other Departments/Units, the public, consultants, private developers and Councillors and technical related matters.

Essential Requirements
 

• Trade Tested Artisan (Plumber or Main Layer or Bricklayer or Carpenter).
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements
 

• National Technical Certificate (Part lll) or equivalent
• 4 Years relevant experience.
   

Special Conditions
The posts are interchangeable within the Department at the discretion of the Deputy Head.

• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
