Commercial Underwriter

We are looking for a Commercial Underwriter to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for providing excellent service to clients and advisors while managing various aspects of commercial insurance policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  

• Obtain quotes from insurers or create quotes as per binder agreements for new and existing clients, re-broking, and policy amendments.
  

• Supply quotes to clients/advisors.
  

• Issue new business policies accurately on systems or via direct insurers
  

• Process broker appointments.
  

• Manage policy amendments requested by clients/advisors, issuing confirmation of insurance coverage and updated policy schedules.
  

• Follow up on unpaid premiums as per company processes.
  

• Process policy cancellations, discussing requests with advisors and clients to confirm cancellations.
  

• Assist clients/advisors with general insurance-related issues.
  

• Mentor junior staff and assist with training and development when required.
  

• Handle ad hoc tasks within the field of expertise.
  

• Manage Workpool correspondence, create and manage tasks, document actions/conversations, and finalise tasks.
  

Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications/Certifications: Grade 12/Matric, NQF4, RE5
  

• Minimum Experience: 5 Year Short term Experience
  

• Working Conditions: Either Office bound or WFH . WFH - dedicated space and good Wi-fi connection
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Strong analytical and communication skills.
  

• Ability to handle complaints professionally.
  

• Knowledge of insurance policies and regulations.
