Data Analyst / BI Specialist

Driving data transformation and business intelligence, this full-time, hybrid role supports cross-platform data initiatives across SQL-based architectures, ZAP BI solutions, and emerging AI technologies. The role is designed to bridge technical data engineering and actionable business insight, transitioning static reporting into governed, self-service analytics.

As part of the Systems team, the successful candidate will build certified datasets, frame business objectives for AI agents, and establish data governance guardrails across internal integrations. The role offers an opportunity to upskill on enterprise analytics tools, refine pandas / Python workflows, and grow into a central data leadership capacity as market trends evolve.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and support BI dashboards, reports, data models, and ZAP BI solutions.
  

• Extract, transform, and analyse data using SQL databases, APIs, and enterprise data warehouse platforms.
  

• Collaborate with business users to understand operational data needs, translating complex findings into plain-language stories.
  

• Help automate data flows, streamline reporting processes, and build certified, trustworthy datasets to serve multiple enterprise tools without duplication.
  

• Frame business questions into executable goals for AI agents, validating and auditing agent-generated SQL and outputs for accuracy and audit integrity prior to stakeholder delivery.
  

• Support data governance practices, helping establish guardrails for self-service analytics and curating a single semantic layer for diverse consumers.
  

• Contribute to integration and data warehouse projects across internal operational systems.
  

Requirements

• Exposure to or experience with Power BI, ZAP BI, and SQL (or similar products).
  

• Understanding of data modelling principles (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema) and tabular vs multi-dimensional structures.
  

• Experience working with API data sources, data warehouses, ERP systems, and ETL processes.
  

• Prompt engineering skills and comfort working with AI-assisted analytics tools.
  

• Ability to validate and audit AI/agent-generated outputs for accuracy and compliance before stakeholder sharing.
  

• Beginner-level Python exposure for data manipulation (pandas, basic scripting) with a strong commitment to expanding this skill set.
  

• Solid understanding of data governance principles and data quality management.
  

• Strong analytical mindset, acute attention to detail, and proven data storytelling abilities.
  

Desirable Requirements

• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  

• Functional exposure to finance or manufacturing processes.
  

• Familiarity with natural language query tools or embedded analytics platforms.
  

• Understanding of semantic layer concepts and headless BI architectures.
