Deputy Nursing Manager - Critical Care

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To support the Nursing Manager in providing leadership and coordination of safe, high-quality patient care across the Critical Care Units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Support the Nursing Manager to achieve quality patient care in line with the hospital operational goals and objectives

Manage patient risks to achieve patient safety in line with specified clinical outcomes

Ensure a positive patient experience in line with corporate benchmarks

Ensure optimal utilisation of a competent and engaged workforce and other resources in line with the relevant company guidelines

Lead and manage direct reports

Establish and manage key stakeholder relationships to achieve integrated patient care and positive clinical outcomes

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: A Degree or Diploma in Nursing, a postgraduate diploma in Critical Care Nursing, and a qualification in Leadership and/or Management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:  5 years experience in a supervisory position, e.g. Unit Manager

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 2 – 3 years experience in a supervisory position within a specialised unit
