DIESEL AND PETROL MECHANIC

Core technical duties
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in diesel engines and related systems
Servicing and maintaining diesel engines (trucks, plant equipment, generators, buses, or heavy machinery, depending on the environment)
Repairing or replacing engine components — fuel injectors, turbochargers, pumps, filters, cooling systems
Conducting routine preventative maintenance and scheduled services
Overhauling engines, gearboxes, and drivetrains where required
Testing repaired vehicles/equipment to confirm faults are resolved
Reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic software output
