Distribution Clerk

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Distribution Clerk to join our Production Support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking, scanning, packing, and dispatching materials to allocated branches, ensuring that all products are accurately documented and distributed in accordance with G+D’s operational and customer standards.

The key responsibilities of the position are as follows, but not limited to:

• Maintain accurate distribution stock records on the ERP system (Sage).


• Prepare and process delivery and dispatch documentation, including Picking Lists and Waybills.


• Pick cards from the Vault according to the picking list and verify orders against picking slips.


• Ensure timely dispatch of goods and that all outgoing items are properly packed and match the Waybill.


• Capture picked items on the ERP system (Sage).


• Maintain accurate records of all distribution activities and file documentation on the shared drive before 09:30 daily.


• Assist with resolving delivery discrepancies and ensure all activities comply with company policies and procedures.


• Adhere to all SOPs, procedures, and instructions to ensure zero customer complaints on primary role.


• Comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and company policies.


• Perform ad hoc assistance to other warehouse functions when necessary.

MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar distribution or warehouse clerk role.


• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.


• Basic computer literacy (MS Office); experience with inventory or ERP systems (Sage advantageous).


• Ability to identify trends and resolve stock issues proactively.


• Good verbal and written communication skills.
