Are you ready for a dynamic role in a truly international environment? 

As an ESL Teacher & Cambridge Exams Coordinator, you will use EF's curriculum and blended learning approach to teach General English, Exam Preparation and Special Interest (SPIN) courses to international students of varying English levels.

Alongside your teaching responsibilities, you will coordinate all Cambridge English examination administration, ensuring that exams are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with Cambridge regulations. During Cambridge examination preparation and exam seasons, your timetable may be adjusted to allow additional time for exam coordination and administration 

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

 General 

  • Plan and prepare lessons: You will deliver engaging General English, Cambridge Exam Preparation and Special Interest (SPIN) courses that meet the diverse needs of international students.
  • Inspire language learning: You will ignite students’ passion for language learning by creating interactive, immersive, and meaningful classroom experiences that bring language to life.
  • Academic administration: You will track student attendance, assess progress, and provide regular feedback to support each student’s learning journey.
  • Classroom management: You will foster a positive, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment where students feel safe, motivated, and empowered to participate.
  • School Spirit: As part of the greater campus team, you will encourage students to get involved beyond classroom lessons, helping them connect through activities, events, and cultural exchanges.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: You will prioritize the well-being and safety of students, following EF’s safeguarding policies, and being ready to respond to any issues that may arise.

    Cambridge Exam Coordination

  • Coordinate all Cambridge English examinations from registration through to results. 
  • Liaise with Cambridge Assessment English, candidates and internal departments regarding examination arrangements. 
  • Manage examination entries, administration, timetables, speaking test schedules and required documentation. 
  • Ensure all Cambridge regulations, deadlines and quality assurance procedures are followed. 
  • Support and advise teachers delivering Cambridge Exam Preparation courses. 
  • During Cambridge examination periods, teaching hours may be reduced to accommodate examination coordination responsibilities.

 

Professional Development: You will stay up to date with the latest ESL teaching practices, integrating innovative methods and technology to support student learning and growth.

What We’re Looking For:  

  • Full fluency in English (reading, writing speaking)
  • All additional languages are a plus!
  • Minimum two years experience as an ESL Teacher
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Cambridge English Exam Preparation courses (B2 First, C1 Advanced and/or C2 Proficiency preferred).
  • Experience with safeguarding and student welfare is preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills to support a dynamic and evolving student community (student participation varies from two weeks to one year)
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Teaching or similar/related field
  • CELTA, CertTESOL or DELTA equivalent higher qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad is a plus!
  • Full working rights in South Africa
