Field Service Mechanic - Forklifts

• Carry
  out scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer specifications
  
• Attend
  breakdown calls within required response times
  
• Diagnose
  faults accurately
  
• Complete
  repairs efficiently with minimal downtime
  
• Perform
  operational testing following repairs
  
• Conduct
  load test inspections where required
  
• Perform
  preventative maintenance inspections
  
• Identify
  worn or unsafe components
  
• Ensure
  equipment is safe before returning it to service
  
• Diagnose
  diesel, LPG and electric forklifts
  
• Perform
  advanced electrical fault finding
  
• Diagnose
  transmission and hydraulic system failures
  
• Repair
  steering, brake, mast and drive systems
  
• Interpret
  electrical and hydraulic schematics
  
• Generate quotation requests
  
• Complete job cards accurately
  
• Capture inspection findings
  

Requirements

• Grade 12
  
• Trade Tested Forklift Mechanic / Earthmoving Mechanic
  / Diesel Mechanic  
  
• Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience repairing forklifts /
  material handling equipment
  
• Experience working independently in the field
  
• Forklift OEM Training will be an advantage
  
• Have own tools for repairs
  
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical diagnostic
  ability
  
• Valid drivers license
  
• Willingness to work overtime and standby when required
