Freelance Account Director (Digital & Social) From August until December 2026 (5 -Month Contract)

As the Account Director, you will be the strategic partner to our clients and the driving force behind the internal team. The ideal candidate must have a proven track record of managing high -volume digital performance campaigns and "always -on" social media. You will be responsible for ensuring top -tier campaign execution, keeping projects on time, and ensuring work is delivered on brief.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship & Account Management

• Confidently lead client meetings, reviews, and status updates.
  
• Manage client expectations proactively, addressing bottlenecks or changes in brief swiftly and professionally.
  

2. Digital Performance & Social Media Leadership

• Oversee the end -to -end execution of paid digital performance campaigns (Programmatic, Paid Social, Lead Generation, etc.).
  
• Drive content marketing briefs with strategy, content planning, and creative flows for "always -on" social media channels.
  
• Work closely with media planners to ensure chaselists are understood and executed correctly with creative.
  

3. Team Collaboration & Workflow Management

• Ensure traffic and creative workflows run seamlessly to meet strict deadlines.
  
• Act as the final gatekeeper for quality control on all client deliverables, ensuring high creative and strategic standards
  

Requirements

Experience & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in advertising or digital agency client service, with at least 2–3 years operating at an Account Director level.
  
• Specialization: Proven hands -on experience managing large -scale digital performance campaigns and complex always -on social media accounts.
  
• Location & Presence: Must be based in Johannesburg and comfortable working in a hybrid capacity (4 days in office, 1 day at home).
  
• Availability: Must be fully available to start in August and commit to the full duration of the contract ending in December.
  
• Attributes: Exceptionally organized, performance -driven, resilient under pressure, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
