Freelance Developer Brief

1 -Month Engagement

Overview

One -month engagement picking up an existing demo project ahead of a trade show. The freelancer will get up to speed via a handover from Billy and Jack, who remain the main points of contact throughout. The work centres on the front -end/UI for a demo unit running on dedicated hardware with a touchscreen, communicating with the backend via REST APIs.

What They Will Do

• Get up to speed via handover from Billy and Jack

• Build/refine the touchscreen UI for the demo unit (runs on the hardware itself, not a web or mobile app)

• Integrate the front end with the backend over REST APIs

• Work within the existing hardware setup, troubleshooting where UI meets hardware

• Begin backend -adjacent work early using the physical unit's existing data logs, ahead of full handover if needed

What We're Looking For

• Practical, hands -on UI development skills

• Comfort with rapid prototyping and iteration, rather than deep embedded C++ development

• Micro -electronics or fixed -hardware experience preferred (some embedded systems exposure, or general comfort with software running on hardware)

• Mid -level freelancer, flexible working hours
