Job Purpose

Lead the development, growth, optimization and commercial performance of Nedbank Business Banking's transaction account portfolio across SME, Mid-Corporate and Commercial Banking segments. Accountable for delivering market-leading transactional products and digital experiences that establish Nedbank as the client's primary operating bank, deepen client engagement, unlock deposits and payment flows, and create sustainable revenue growth through data-driven propositions, ecosystem partnerships and digital innovation.

  • Ensure product effectiveness in meeting client needs and manage the risk in product development.

  • Resolve queries from internal and external clients.

  • Support the business and ensure that product delivery meets expectations.

  • Lead the department by driving excellence and building trust.

  • Lead product development and enhancements.

  • Ensure transformational targets are met.

  • Contribute to team effectiveness by participating in the recruitment and selection of senior staff.

  • Contribute to a culture of transformation.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification



  • Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Commerce, Banking, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Marketing, or a related field.

  • A relevant Postgraduate Qualification (NQF Level 8) in Business, Finance, Banking, Strategy, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • A Master's Degree (MBA, MCom, or equivalent) will be a distinct advantage.


Minimum Experience Level



  • Minimum of 7-10 years' experience within the banking or financial services sector, with significant exposure to transactional banking, product management, payments, deposits, cash management, or related business banking portfolios.
