HealthTech Product Specialist

A HealthTech company is seeking a full-time, HealthTech Product Specialist in Bellville, Cape Town. Playing a central role within a growing healthcare technology environment, this position bridges the gap between clinical operations, medical billing requirements, and software development. The role serves as an internal subject-matter expert on South African medical schemes, tariff structures, billing rules, and practice management workflows to ensure solutions meet the practical needs of healthcare professionals.

Working closely with product, development, onboarding, training, support, and commercial teams, the focus centers on translating complex clinical and administrative processes into effective software functionality. The candidate will assist in defining product requirements, validating functionality through testing, supporting user onboarding, and resolving complex billing and workflow queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and apply internal expertise regarding medical billing, medical schemes, tariff structures, and speciality-specific billing rules.
  
• Analyse clinical and administrative workflows, from patient consultation to coding, billing, and claims, to ensure system functionality supports day-to-day practice operations.
  
• Translate clinical, operational, and billing requirements into clear specifications for software development and product teams.
  
• Participate in testing new functionality, identifying edge cases, and validating realistic clinical and billing scenarios prior to product release.
  
• Support the onboarding of medical practices and assist in developing training materials, user guides, and billing documentation.
  
• Investigate and assist with complex product, workflow, or billing queries referred by internal support and onboarding teams.
  
• Monitor developments within the South African medical billing and medical scheme environment to identify opportunities for ongoing product enhancement.
