An opportunity to prepare complete UK-compliant financial accounts from start to finish, work directly with SME clients, and identify additional service opportunities through a commercial approach.

Cape Town, South Africa | On-site office | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with a 1-hour paid lunch break | R55,000 – R60,000 per month

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client operates from an office in Cape Town, providing accounting services to SME clients and working with UK accounting standards.

The working environment is collaborative and non-micromanaged, with weekly team calls providing support from a Senior Accountant.

THE ROLE: JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for preparing complete, UK-compliant financial accounts from start to finish.

The role involves direct interaction with SME clients and applying a commercial mindset to identify additional service opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare complete UK-compliant financial accounts from start to finish.


• Apply UK GAAP requirements when preparing accounts.


• Apply FRS 105 and FRS 102 accounting standards for SMEs.


• Interact directly with SME clients.


• Apply a commercial mindset to identify additional service opportunities.


• Participate in weekly team calls with the Senior Accountant.

ABOUT YOU

• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP is essential.


• Hands-on experience with FRS 105 and FRS 102 accounting standards for SMEs is essential.


• Proven ability to prepare full UK-compliant accounts end-to-end is essential.


• Strong client-facing communication skills.


• Commercial acumen.
