Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Sous Chef for a luxury game reserve based in the Eastern Cape.

This is an excellent opportunity for a culinary professional looking to grow within a five-star safari environment while developing their skills under the guidance of an experienced Executive Chef team.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on team player who is eager to learn, confident in the kitchen, and committed to maintaining exceptional food standards within a remote luxury setting.

Package:

• Salary: R18,000
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation and service of high-quality dishes
  


• Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations
  


• Ensure consistent food presentation in line with property standards
  


• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards at all times
  


• Assist with stock control, receiving, and ingredient rotation
  


• Support menu preparation and daily specials where required
  


• Ensure dietary requirements and guest preferences are followed accurately
  


• Assist with training and guiding junior kitchen staff
  


• Maintain smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service
  


• Support leadership responsibilities when required
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience within a professional kitchen, preferably in a lodge or five-star hospitality environment
  


• Strong basic culinary skills with a willingness to learn and develop further
  


• Ability to work well under pressure within a remote environment
  


• Good communication and teamwork abilities
  


• Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
  


• Passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction
