Description   

We are looking for a proactive Legal
practitioner to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will be
responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle from drafting and
reviewing to execution, compliance, and archiving. You will play a key role in
ensuring all legal agreements align with internal policies, regulatory
requirements, and best practices. This position requires a strong legal
background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a
fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.


Your responsibilities will include the
following:

  • Manage the full contract lifecycle, from
    initiation and drafting through execution, renewals, and archiving.

  • Ensure all contracts comply with relevant
    laws, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate legal risk.

  • Maintain an accurate, organized contract
    database and filing system, ensuring timely uploading and capturing of all
    agreements.

  • Diarise and monitor key contract dates and
    milestones, issuing timely reminders to stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present contract status
    reports, renewals, and compliance metrics for senior management.

  • Draft, review, and update contract
    templates and legal documents in collaboration with the Senior Legal
    Specialist.

  • Conduct legal research and support small
    legal projects as needed.

  • Assist with the preparation and
    finalization of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), confidentiality agreements,
    and tender contracts.

  • Participate in internal client meetings
    and provide legal advisory on contractual and legislative matters.

  • Support audit and reporting functions
    related to contracts and their proper authorization.

  • Assist the legal team with daily
    administrative tasks and stay updated on relevant legislative changes impacting
    contracts.


Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word,
    Excel).

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in legal advisory
    or contract management.

  • Knowledge of the South African regulatory
    environment, particularly within the financial services sector.

  • Strong organizational and time management
    skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
    abilities.

  • Strong legal writing and problem-solving
    skills.

  • Good judgment and decision-making
    capability.

  • High attention to detail with strong
    analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage
    multiple tasks effectively.
