Maintenance Assistant

·         Perform
routine inspection on production equipment

·         Perform
basic routine preventative maintenance functions

·         Assist
with general maintenance and repair of machinery

·         Assist
with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs

·         Tooling
maintenance, including cleaning, storage and minor repairs

·         Assist
with maintenance, repairs and upkeep of equipment, infrastructure and vehicles

·         Assist
with installation and commissioning of new equipment

·         Maintain
a clean and safe work environment

·         Escalate
machine, equipment and other technical failures

Requirements

·         Grade
12

·         N3 –
N6 qualification preferred

·         Minimum
1 – 2 years experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment

·         Exposure
to manufacturing processes

·         Mechanical
and electrical experience

·         Welding and fabrication
skills (qualified welder preferred)

·         Knowledge of and ability
to use power tools

·         Knowledge of health and
safety procedures and protocols

·         Ability to work at
heights and confined spaces

·         Ability to lift and
handle materials and tools (physical fitness)

·         Valid driver’s licence
would be advantageous

·         Basic computer literacy
would be advantageous

·         Must be willing and able
to work shifts and/or overtime, and move between the different plants to
perform maintenance tasks
